Unfailing Love

"Within Your temple, O GOD, we meditate
on Your unfailing love."
Psalms 48:9

 

 

The sons of Korah wrote this Psalm right after they were delivered from there enemies, and GOD helped them to win a battle.  So, what do they do?  They run right to GOD'S temple and give thanks. They do what is right and offer praise to GOD for saving them in their times of trouble, and can now rejoice in their victory. All of this because of His unfailing love for His people.

But, I don't go to war against my enemies, do I?  In all actuality we do go to war every day, that is why we are given armor to wear.  Read Ephesians 6:10-17.  We are equipped every day with our armor and weapons so that we may be able to hold off the enemies attacks.  But who is our enemy?  The devil uses many different vices to get in our lives some are blatantly obvious, but some others are not really easy to see.

We all know that drugs and alcohol can ruin our lives, but what are the vises that we may not see as a hindrance in our lives?  Well, anything that takes all of our time so that we have nothing left to spend with the Lord in prayer, or in reading His Word.  Things like video games, now I'm not saying their bad, Lord knows I have plenty of games and machines, and love to just veg out, but when we spend 8 hours playing on our games, and no time with the Lord I see that as pretty one sided, and that can be a vice to us.

I don't think we should throw out the game machines, but I do think we should spend a little more time with GOD and a little less with Mario or Master Chief.

The truth has been shown to you through the Son, what are you going to get up and do about it?
