"But YOU, O LORD, are a compassionate and gracious GOD,
slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness."
Psalms 86:15

 

David is still on the run here, he's hiding out and knows that at any time Saul's men might find him and kill him.  So, what does he do?  He calls out to the LORD for help, and why do you think he would want to do that?  Well, Dave has a history of calling to GOD when he needs saving, and GOD has a history of pulling Dave out of some tight spots.  Out of GOD'S faithfulness to us He is willing to lend us a hand when we need it.

I can recall a few times that I've needed to be helped out of some tight spots, and sometimes it's been through calling out to GOD for His help. Sometimes I just needed to ask my parents for help, and they were only too happy to help me out.  However, no matter how big a problem we have, GOD will always be there to get us up and wipe our eyes, clean off our cuts and send us back on our way.  He is always faithful to us, and willing to lend us a helping hand.

GOD'S love and faithfulness to us is abounding, in other words it just keeps building up and up and doesn't show any sign of stopping or slowing down.  Even when we mess up and get ourselves into trouble the LORD is always faithful to lift us up.
